Just a quick note to let you know that we SURVIVED our amazing trek over the Andes to Machu Picchu. It was to say the least, unbelievable. We are all achey and tired but also incredibly stimulated to seek another family challenge. Imagine hiking up and down thousands of feet in 10 hours per day straight of hiking (sometimes through HAIL). What a work out! On the second day and roughous day, we climbed from 2,000 meter to 4200 meters then down to 3580 meters. Up, Down, Up.... aka ¨"Inka Flats". John tells me, we climbed over 3,000 feet. I have to pinch myself to believe that we DID it.
We will all be writing for the website, but we still have over three more weeks of treking. Next on to Puno, Lake Titicaca, La Paz (Bolivia), then back to Peru...Nazca, Ica, Lima and finally to Chan-Chan (for obvious reasons)....
Short posting but we hope all is well with you.
Love,
Judy, John, Gaby and Sami
