As you know our new crewmember Anya is safe aboard Encanto. She has already had crew duties, including cutting the new rug to fit the dinghy, going to the fish market to buy fresh tuna ($2.00/lb), shrimp ($3.00/lb) and squid ($1.00) as well as berries, pineapple, papaya, and herbs. Well, I was with her, so she didn't have to negotiate in Spanish, with the marketiers. All went well and she made the Jamie Oliver recipe for fresh tuna. Yum. We had the shrimp and squid ala Judy with coconut milk, fresh basil and curry and a huge salad.
I can report that all the stroopwafels are gone. And half the chocolate eggs are gone. Tomorrow, we will open the cheese. thank you for all the goodies, too bad all of them didn't make it pass KLM weight restrictions....guess, we'll need to get them ourselves with a visit to Holland in a few years.
Anya is asleep (7:30pm EST, that about 1:30am your time). Tomorrow, we are sure she'll be prepared for more crew duties.
S/v Encanto is still up in the air and on the hard. We need to splash on Thursday. Captain can then be hoisted up the mast, start the water maker, fill the water tanks. Fill the fuel tanks and check engine and power sources. Lots to do. Anya and I will go to the officials (Immigrations and Port Captain) to check -out of the country on Friday and stock the boat with fresh provisions. Saturday we leave. Haven't checked the tide tables, yet so don't know a precise hour.
