Another lazy day in paradise. The pool awaited me this morning so I did my laps at 8 and had the pool to myself. After that refreshing start of the day we all had breakfast together and made some plans for the days to come. We still haven’t heard from the travel agency about our Easter Island trip which disappoints us a little, since they promised to send the information by the end of the week. I went down to the internet again to check out information about my flight(s) home because the time is nearing that I need to think about this. I  got everything figured out and will make things definitive after I have talked to the captain about it. After all, he is the only one who can get the boat to Bora Bora.
We were ready for our hike at 2 and first picked up Evan (s/v Emilia) because he didn’t go with his brother and parents. To our surprise we saw Ryan (his brother) coming down already as we just started to go up the mountain. I swear he was a mountain goat in a previous life: I have never seen anybody walk and climb mountains as easily as he does. His parents followed shortly after so it was our own party with Evan. Luckily Ryan decided to do the hike again (!) with us. I have to admit: I was not wearing the right shoes for this. I was wearing tennis shoes and the path went straight up so I kept slipping. It was quite a heavy hike and I was once again confronted with the terrible state my body is in: I haven’t done anything ‘sporty’ for months…..years!! Sami, Gaby, Evan en Ryan went all the way to the top but John, Judy and I found a wonderful viewpoint half way and found ourselves in a heated discussion so we decided to stay there and wait for them to come back. We had a wonderful view of the reef and the Sheraton Hotel below which have been captured in many pictures to show at home.
At the end of the day we dropped Evan and Ryan off at their bay and ran into s/v Myrdinn who we hadn’t seen for a couple of weeks. It was good to see them again and hear that all was well on board. After a hearty farewell to s/v Emilia we all went home again and had another delicious dinner made on Encanto and served in Club Bali Hai.

Today was a Girl’s Day Out: Judy, Ann and I took the car and went on our island adventure. We enjoyed the beautiful views from several points of the islands and ended up in the Intercontinental. I really wanted to go there because I had read that it was possible to swim with dolphins there. It so turned out that the Intercontinental also had a wonderful shop and an equally impressive restaurant where the girls had lunch: salad, Chinese dumplings and raw fish. All wonderful. I felt like a movie star sitting there on the edge of the pool with my lady friends, enjoying the food and the view.
We watched the dolphins and I signed up for the next day. Tomorrow I am swimming with dolphins! Does it ever stop??
