Day 2
Encanto underway
S 10.15
W 140.30
Light winds, Scattered clouds-Moon rise @ 12:30AM
Speed 4.0-5.0knots

First Mate:
Boats pass us, also heading for the Tuomotuos. The Captain longs for a lighter boat. The perfect boat ever desired, however, we are comfortable and that is foremost. On the Southern Cross Net, familiar cruising boats making their landings, others underway are chatting with us about destinations to be made. Most of the boats are trying to reach an island where Bastille Day is celebrated, July 14th  in fanfare. We are not sure where we will be in 13 days.

Captain:
We're underway for Makemo, anticipate we'll arrive in four days. So far all has been uneventful (GREAT!). We are broad reaching in 10kts of wind making 5-6 over the bottom. Really great! All on board are well.

Moving slow…sea slug pace. Passed an island that had remnants of volcanic action and erosion. Spirals and cones towering like a landscape out of a green Mordor. Really weird.

Just in time for dinner, Captain caught a 15 lb, HUGE yellowfin tuna. As Anya calls him, Mr. Tuna, is about 2' feet long and 6" girth.  "So long and thanks for the fish!"

Nightfall, all is well, just moving really slow, drifting at 1.5 to 3.0 knots.
