September 16, 2007 - Sunday Raiatea, Society Islands
10:14 local: Pulled up the anchor. Feels great, the air temperature is 82°F/28°C and 56% humidity. Moved from our previous anchorage to the other side of Raiatea in the bay near Tahaa, so we can leave first thing Monday to get to Bora Bora. We had a very pleasant and calm sail, dropped anchor at Baia Faaha on Tahaa at 13:45 local time.
Tahaa Island is known as the vanilla island. There is a vanilla bean plantation nearby, but not near enough for us to visit, and it is Sunday. On Sunday, every thing is closed and all of the islanders take a Day of Rest. We like that attitude.
With guidance from Judy, Anya put in the invisible zipper in her dress. With this success, it was reason enough to ask Gaby to bake cookies to celebrate the moment. It is bad for the waistline, but great for the taste buds and our sanity.
