Pago Pago American Samoa
Our latest brush with a tropical cyclone passed south and is now 200 miles from us. Today, we bask in a sunny hot (86°/30°) day with intermittent showers. All is well.
Yesterday, we were pleased that the harbormaster and his staff responded to the needs of the boats that broke loose so we were not playing "bumper" boats. Mid-afternoon when the winds still howled, the harbormaster called out to all the yachts to advise us on the weather conditions and to assure us of the harbor patrol's availability should we need assistance. A weather channel (12) on the VHF kept us abreast of the situation with updates every six hours. All in all, the possible dangers have passed and we are in the clean up mode from so much rain.
Time to do another load of laundry!!!!
