Just in from the Captain:
Another good day of sailing is behind us. We made another 35 miles or so of easting yesterday as we got a great wind shift to the south east. We discovered late in the day as we downloaded weather faxes, that we had just sailed through a weak trough. For several hours, we saw nothing less than 7.5kts, and a top of 9.8, but mostly 8.5's. Pretty cool.
This morning has been just the kind of day that reminds me of just why I love sailing so much. We are on a close reach, doing 5 and 6's, the boat seldom pounds, and the water is rushing by, the stars are out but a bit dim from the half moon. Ahhhhhh
