FAVORITES FOR A COMFORTABLE DAILY LIFE:
- Large 10-12” diameter plastic bowl with lid, used to transport potluck contribution, especially salads. (Tupperware or rubbermaid brand are best).
- One liter container for mixing drinks and stowing liquids
- Stainless Steel, Thermos French Press
- Kuhn Pressure Cooker
- Blender
- Whistling Water Kettle
- Stainless Steel, rectangle baking pan with lid, used for baking & transport.
- Food Saver machine and replacement bags
- Knives-Wusthof (or the best you can afford, you’ll use them everyday)
- Electric Coffee Bean Grinder
- LeCreuset large cast iron frying pan
- Emil Henry pie dish and baking pan
- Chef’n spoon ‘n spatual cooking tool
- Silpat mats
- Stovetop Waffle Iron or crepe pan (Nordic ware)
- Stainless steel baking pans, sheets, bowls
- Favorite ceramic mug
- Cases of Trader Joe “$2 buck chuck” wine, $3 if you come from Canada. Wines in the box, remove box, carry only the bladder.
- Wonder Wash spinning washing machine
- Kenmore Sewing Machine
- Laptop Computer(s)
- CD-R (write) disks
- Digtal Camera
- On board access to email via winlink or sail mail
- BOSE headphones and CD player or IPod
- Sunday Afternoon Hats (best all condition design, durable and light)
- SPF rated, long sleeve shirt, with fisherman’s collar or mandarin collar or hood
- TEVA sandals (Wraptor style; comfortable, supportive & sturdy. You’ll live in them. You do a lot of walking in this lifestyle so they are worth every penny.)
- Good backpack (e.g. Lowe or North Face brand), you’ll use it every time you go to town. Lesser brands fall apart. Alternatively, some cruisers like fanny packs.
- Trader Joe’s grocery canvas tote bag (light and washable, perfect for provisioning, get two, one for each shoulder)
